Shadow Vanguard

The Shadow Vanguard are all that remains of the outer galaxy settled colonies. The planets here are the youngest established settlements and the first to have encountered the alien fleet.

Having lost almost all of their planets by an all-consuming horde, the remaining few planets acted fast once details of their enemy spread.

With improved comms to negate the dead-zone’s effects, the outer galaxy planets built the first Mecha War Machines, balancing between titans, to match the largest the alien fleet had to offer, to the smaller more agile mecha units effective at dealing close-range strikes.

Shadow Vanguard numbers are few but effective, a rapid response unit against a silent and deadly enemy. With constant alien attacks, the Shadow Vanguard struggle to build on their existing number of mecha units.

Citizens on the outer-planet colonies are trained in combat and the Mecha War Machine from a young age, creating an effective fighting force. Their reduced number is a testament to their elite status, their black funereal colour acting more as a rallying call to battle than an expectation of death on already dying planets.
